688 Series Specifications PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 Work Included The high-speed coiling doors shall be the
JetRoll Series 688 as manufactured by Overhead Door Corporation. 1.02 Related Work Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels, field painting, field electrical wiring,
wire, conduit, fuses, and disconnect switches are in the Scope of Work of other divisions or trades. PART 2 - PRODUCT 2.01 Curtain Curtain shall be 2mm
thickness, multi-layer PVC impregnated fabric. (Optional 2.5mm thickness multi-layer PVC impregnated fabric.) (Optional 18" x 18" (457mm x 457mm) or 36" x 34" (914mm x 864mm) field-replaceable, clear vision lite(s).)
Curtain shall have a positive tensioning system to resist windload effects during operation. Standard curtain colors are red, blue and orange. (Optional 2.5mm thickness fabric is available in red.) 2.02 Bottom Bar
The door shall be an extruded aluminum member to reinforce the curtain. The bottom bar shall incorporate a breakaway system to release the curtain from the guides upon impact. The bottom bar shall also be
equipped with a four-wire fail-safe self-monitoring electric sensing edge. 2.03 Guides Guides shall be an architectural aluminum channel with two ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene retainer
strips attached to a continuous structural steel wall angle. An additional steel angle opposite the wall angle shall provide for a traveling tubular windbar that can be mounted on either side of curtain. (Optional
traveling windbar on either or both sides or in tandem on one or both sides of curtain.) 2.04 Operator DC motor operator shall be worm gear drive in a continuous oil bath and 1/2hp motor assembly with
electrical brake. An emergency hand chain shall be provided for operation during power outages. Upward door speed shall be 42" (1067mm) per second and maximum downward door speed shall be 21" (533mm) per second. All
low-voltage wiring will be through factory provided "quick-connect" wiring harness. 2.05 Door Roll Curtain and bottom bar shall be factory wrapped onto steel tube barrel. 2.06 Counterbalance
The counterbalance shall be adjustable springs housed in a steel canister. 2.07 Hood (Optional hood shall be minimum 24-gauge galvanized steel, mounted to bracket tabs.) (Optional sloped weather hood
available.) 2.08 Safety Devices High-speed door shall be equipped with the following safety systems: 1. Self-monitoring, four-wire, black/yellow striped, fail-safe sensing edge that reverses the downward
motion of the door upon contact. 2. Non-contact photoelectric sensors that cast an invisible beam across the door opening and reverse the downward motion of the door when the beam is broken. 3. Motor cut-out
switch, located in the breakaway bottom bar, which stops the motor and switches the door into alarm mode when broken. 4. (Optional: Non-contact motion detection system extending beyond the immediate door opening on
both sides, reversing the downward travel of the door when a person or object enters the protected area.) 2.09 Control Panel Control panel shall include self-diagnostics and factory programmable logic to
accept various actuators. Control panel shall have LED indication of door action, alarm conditions, and fault conditions. LED readouts must be visible through a clear vision panel on the control box cover. Shall include
an adjustable "Timer to Close" and cycle counter in a NEMA 12 enclosure. 2.10 Actuators (Optional) "Open/Close/Stop" push buttons. (Optional actuators include: push buttons, loop detectors, radio controls,
motion detectors, photo beams, pull cords or any combination thereof.) Considerable thought should be given to the choice of actuators based on the type of traffic and the traffic flow through the opening.
2.11 Finish Curtain color as specified in 2.01. Wall angle brackets shall be painted black. Bottom bar shall be anodized black. Guide channel shall be clear anodized. PART 3 -
EXECUTION 3.01 Execution The Series 688 high-speed doors shall be installed in accordance with Overhead Door Corporation instructions and standards. Installation shall be by authorized Overhead
Door Corporation representatives. |
