Specifications

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 Work Included

The manually operated, full vertical doors shall be Series 697 as manufactured by Overhead Door Corporation.

1.02 Related Work

Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels, field painting, field electrical wiring, wire, conduit, fuses, and disconnect switches are in the Scope of Work of other divisions or trades.

PART 2 - PRODUCT

2.01 Curtain

Curtain shall be 1mm thick reinforced vinyl fabric without vision lites. (Optional curtain, 2mm thickness multi-layer PVC impregnated fabric.) (Optional, field-replaceable, full-width vision panel by 32" (813mm) or 40" (1016mm) high.) (Optional cut in vision lites 18" (457mm) in 1mm or 2mm curtain material or 36" (914mm) high in 2mm curtain material only. (Optional curtain of black vinyl-coated polyester screen with 25% openness, 75% UV blockage and 13.5oz./sq. yd. weight.) Curtains shall be equipped with flexible glass reinforced polymer air pressure struts (number of which is dependent on door height) attached to both sides. Curtains available in red, blue and orange.

2.02 Bottom Bar

The door shall be an extruded aluminum member to reinforce the curtain. The bottom bar shall incorporate a system to release the curtain from the guides upon impact and have floor-level reset capability.

2.03 Guides

Guides shall be an architectural aluminum channel with two ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene retainer strips attached to a continuous structural steel wall angle.

2.04 Operation

Manual push-up operation. (Optional manual hand chain hoist.)

2.05 Counterbalance

The door assembly shall be operated by a torsion spring counterbalance mechanism, with a helically wound, oil-tempered torsion spring mounted on a tubular steel shaft.  Cable drums are die-cast aluminum with high-strength galvanized aircraft cable with a minimum 7-to-1 safety factor.

2.06 Finish

Curtain color as specified in 2.01. Wall angle brackets shall be painted black. Bottom bar shall be anodized black. Guide channel shall be clear anodized.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 Execution

The Series 697 high-speed doors shall be installed in accordance with Overhead Door Corporation instructions and standards. Installation shall be by authorized Overhead Door Corporation representatives.
