ArmorDrive™ At a Glance

The ArmorDrive™ Commercial Operator is loaded with features and benefits that you would expect to find only in a high-end operator. Below is a list of standard features and the benefits.  Without question, the ArmorDrive Commercial Operator is the most innovative commercial operator on the market today. The ArmorDrive's advanced features gives you a real advantage in both the new and retrofit markets.

Modularity

The powertrain is separate from the mounting kit and has been designed to allow one base powertrain, either 1/2HP or 1HP, to lift every door in our commercial line. Modularity allows distributors to decrease inventory and quickly configure an ArmorDrive Operator to meet any installation situation.

Remote Mount Option

The electric box can be remotely mounted from the powertrain with an easy to install optional kit.

24-Hour Shipment

The ArmorDrive is available for 24-hour UPS shipment. Place your emergency order before 1PM EST and your order will be shipped the same day for overnight delivery.

Planetary Gears

A planetary gear reducer is inherently more efficient compared to worm gear reduction. The 40:1 reduction ratio handles increased shock loads effortlessly, up to 300% of the rated load.

Electromagnetic Disc Brake with an Adjustable Progressive Braking Function

Disc brake technology contributes to better door performance and increased cycle life. The adjustable progressive braking function allows the door to be soft stopped, to eliminate wear and tear on the door.

Electronic Control System (Universal Design)

The universal design of the main control board accommodates both single and three phase motors at all standard voltages. There are only two control boards used. The Logic Relay (LR) board is used on all 1/2HP operators from 115 to 460 VAC. The Logic Contactor Board (LC) is used on all 575 VAC Operators and all 1HP Operators.

Plug-and-Play Connectivity of Operator Components

Components like the transformer, brake, limit switches and motor are designed as plug-in modules. Components install easily with no rewiring required.

Accessory Modules

Accessory modules are also designed for plug-and-play functionality with no rewiring of the operator required. These modules include the Timer Close Module and the Auxiliary Output Module.

An On-Board Open/Close/Stop Button Control

The on-board Open/Close/Stop button control simplifies the set-up and testing during installation. This will save time and labor.

Push-to-Set Limits

The limit is set with the push of a button. This feature, in conjunction with the on-board open/close/stop button, will eliminate climbing up and down the ladder and save time and labor.

Mid-Stop Operation Setting

This is used to specify an alternate up limit for very tall doors. This feature is set with the push of a button with no additional wiring or materials required. The door can be set to stop at a specified height for normal access and opened fully when required. This saves on heating and cooling costs.

Independent Maximum Run Timers

The auto-setting independent maximum run timers stop and reverse a closing door if the present run time is exceeded. If the preset run time is exceeded while opening the door the operator will stop. If either maximum run timer is exceeded the operator will not respond to commands until power is reset. This provides the opportunity to correct the condition that caused the operator to exceed the maximum run timer.

Toggle Release

This feature requires only one cable to operate with an easy pull. Pull once to release, pull again to re-engage. This is easier to use than the pull and hold method used on most commercial operators.

Built-In Safety Mechanisms

The ArmorDrive has built in safety checks that protect against certain error conditions and will shut the system down in these circumstances. These conditions include certain false motor and brake operations.

Enhanced On-Board Troubleshooting

The on-board LED display takes the guesswork out of diagnosing and correcting a problem. Every function the ArmorDrive performs has its own unique code for troubleshooting purposes. These codes are located in the electric box cover and manual. For example if the ArmorDrive will not open the door, it displays a unique code indicating the problem. If the door reverses, the ArmorDrive displays a code showing why it reversed. The system not only self-diagnoses the problem, but also allows the user to recall the previous 10 error codes.

Easy Setup

Set clockwise or counterclockwise rotation with the push of a button. No more type C or D wiring changes are necessary to change the direction of the output shaft rotation.

Momentary or constant contact control selected with the push of a button with no rewiring required.
