SECURITY GRILLES
675, 677, 678 and 679 Series Side Folding Full Closure Grilles

PART 1  GENERAL

1.01 Work Included
The closures will be Series 675, 677, 678 or 679 as furnished by Overhead Door Corporation.

1.02 Related Work
Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels and finish or field painting are in the Scope of Work of other divisions or trades.

PART 2  PRODUCT

2.01 Curtain -- Pick from 2.01.A-D below.

2.01.A  Series 675 - Ventgard, Ventgard Wide Body
Curtain design shall incorporate minimum 4" (102mm) high bottom plates of truss like aluminum and 5-1/4" (133mm) high top plates that frame each 6-5/16" (160mm) or 11-1/4" (286mm) wide panel.  The curtain contains 18 gauge, 3/16" (5mm) painted perforated steel panels allowing for 51% visibility.  Panels can be finished to match color selection.

2.01.B  Series 677 - Lexgard, Lexgard Wide Body
Curtain design shall incorporate minimum 4" (102mm) high bottom plates of truss like aluminum and 5-1/4" (133mm) high top plates that frame each 6-5/16" (160mm) or 11-1/4" (286mm) wide panel.  The curtain is glazed with 1/8" (3mm) thick polycarbonate with a viewable area width of 4-3/4" (121mm) or 8-7/8" (225mm).  These polycarbonate panels are cushioned with specially designed vinyl compression gaskets at top and bottom of glazing.**

2.01C  Series 678 - Crystalgard, Crystalgard Wide Body
Curtain design shall incorporate minimum 4" (102mm) high bottom plates of truss like aluminum and 5-1/4" (133mm) high top plates that frame each 6-5/16" (160mm) or 11-1/4" (286mm) wide panel.  The curtain is glazed with 1/8" (3mm) thick tempered glass with a viewable area width of 4-3/4" (121mm) or 8-7/8" (225mm).  These polycarbonate panels are cushioned with specially designed vinyl compression gaskets at top and bottom of glazing.**

2.01D  Series 679 - Supergard, Supergard Wide Body
Curtain design shall incorporate truss like aluminum and 5-1/4" (133mm) high plates, alternating on top of 6-5/16" (160mm) or 11-1/4" (286mm) wide, solid full-height aluminum panels.

2.02  Track
1-1/8" (29mm) trolley assemblies are adjustable 1" (25mm) upward or downward without removal of curtain.  Track shall be heavy extruded aluminum 1-3/8" (35mm) wide by 1-5/8" (41mm) high.  ***Curves are 90^o, 120^o, 135^o, and 150^o and shall have a 14" (356mm) radius for standard body models and 22" (559mm) radius for wide body models.

2.03  Finish
All alumunum shall be furnished in a clear anodized finish.  (Optional acrylic, powder coat paint pr cp;pred anodized finish.  Consult distributor for special colors.)

2.04  Stacking Dimensions
Standard 6-5/16" (160mm) Panel

All models specify 13/16" (21mm) per linear foot of curtain.  Add 3" (76mm) to stack per post.  Clear pocket width 8" (203mm).  Note:  See 2.05.B for location of posts.

Wide Body 11-1/4" (286mm) Panel

All models specify 3/4" (19mm) per liniear foot of curtain.  Add 3" (8mm) to stack per post.  Clear pocket width 8" (203mm).  Note:  See 2.05.B for location of posts.

Emergency Egress Door (Optional).  All models add 8" (203mm) to stack for emergency egress door.

2.05  Locking -- See 2.05.A-C below.

2.05.A  Lead posts
Lead posts conceals a hook bolt lock activated by a keyed cylinder or thumb turn, engaging a full height wall channel.  Where required, an optional top and bottom spring loaded locking post with interior thumb turn or keyed cylinder and dustproof floor socket are available.  The edge of this post shall have a rubber bumper.

2.05.B  Intermediate Posts
Intermediate posts shall be provided for every 10' (3,048mm) maximum (counter mounts, 6' (1,828mm) maximum) of curtain length and at each curve.  Intermediate posts shall contain an adjustable concealed spring loaded drop bolt with cylinder keyed alike.  Dustproof floor sockets are furnished for all drop bolts.

2.05.C  Trailing End Posts
Trailing end posts shall have an attached 10' max, high-impact extruded polymer protection plate and be self locking into a floor steel V-stop and top stop.  End post can be fixed to a wall when stacked in opening.  Optional top and bottom locking end posts are available.

PART 3  EXECUTION

3.01  Execution
Install the doors in accordance with Overhead Door Corporation instructions and standards, using an authorized Overhead Door Corporation distributor or representative.

**Full height closures will require 1" separator panels
