Safety Systems for Garage Door Openers

All of Overhead Door Corporation´s residential garage door openers are designed with a six-part protection system that meets or exceeds all UL, state and federal regulations effective January 1, 1993:

Electronic Sensory Protection
Automatically reverses a closing door when an object passes through the invisible infrared beam.

Contact Reverse
Automatically stops and reverses a closing door within two seconds of contact with an object.

Timed Reverse
Automatically stops and reverses a closing door if it fails to close completely within 30 seconds.

Electronic Force Control
Features adjustable force sensitivity settings to automatically stop and reverse a closing door if the required force exceeds the selected level.

Relay Switch Monitoring System
Automatically stops and reverses a closing door if a control relay switch malfunctions.

ESP Monitoring System
Automatically stops and reverses a closing door if the ESP system malfunctions.  Utilizes an infrared beam to detect obstructions in the door´s path.
