2017 started off on a high note with Remodeling’s 2017 Cost vs Value Report revealing that garage door replacements were once again ranked one of the top returns on investment among all home improvements nationwide. The year got even better for the Overhead Door™ brand with the launches of several groundbreaking products, earning prestigious awards, appearing on a hit HGTV series and participating in the 2017 Southern Living Idea House.

What new Overhead Door™ products launched in 2017?

  • Envy™. Available for commercial (Model 522) and residential (Model 956), Overhead Door™ garage door Envy™ is the company’s first seamless full-view, all-glass door that boasts a sleek frameless exterior for an ultra-modern look.

  • EverServe™. Our EverServe™ models (610S, 620S, and 625S) are one of the industry’s first rolling service door systems to feature a springless barrel design with integrated shafts and an extended 500,000 cycle life. These significant enhancements provide 25 times the standard service door cycle life.

  • RapidFlex™ Model 990. This high-speed door features a flexible, breakaway bottom bar that minimizes damage in case of accidental collisions, a detachable bottom seal for easy replacement and troubleshooting, and patent-pending curtain lock that enables doors to be repaired quickly on site, unlike traditional zippered doors.

  • RSX® Egress Operator. The launch of our fully-integrated commercial door RSX® Egress Operator for security grilles provided quicker installation, hassle-free user operation and an overall safer product.

  • RapidGrille® and RapidSlat® Improvements. Our advanced performance products, RapidGrille® and RapidSlat®, were enhanced to simplify installation and maintenance. Improvements included a standardized motor across all models, a built-in brake mechanism and wireless safety edge to shorten the learning curve and installation times, while boosting door opening speeds.

  • DoorView®.  DoorView® is a garage door design app that uses an actual image of the user’s home exterior to envision hundreds of potential garage door designs. This year an app was made available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Thermacore® Wood Grain Finishes.  Thermacore® Collection models 494, 496 and 497 now offer three wood grain finishes in the colors of Golden Oak, Walnut and Mission Oak. The embossed wood-grain texture adds beauty and sophistication to one of the company’s most premium insulated garage doors.

  • 2-Button LED Flashlight Remote. This new remote offers a built-in powerful LED Flashlight that has been tested at 30 lumens to shed light up to approximately 50 feet, while running on a single AAA battery.

  • Impact Section Panels. A new Impact Section for Overhead Door™ commercial and industrial Sectional Steel and Thermacore® door models was introduced to help protect warehouse doors from forklift damage, minimizing maintenance costs for customers.​​

  • HGTV Desert Flippers. This was the second season Overhead Door™ residential garage doors added valuable curb appeal to homes featured on the hit series, which follows husband and wife duo Eric and Lindsey Bennett as they transform sunny Palm Springs, California, one dilapidated home at a time. Two million viewers tuned in to watch the transformation that Overhead Door Company of the Desert™ helped make happen.

  • Southern Living’s 2017 Idea House.Overhead Door™ Distributor Overhead Door Company of Wilmington™ installed two custom Mahogany wood finished doors on the front of a beautiful beach home. The Idea House showcases the latest residential design ideas and style tips that reaches an audience of approximately 2,822,450 readers. ​​

  • Daytime TV and The Lifestyle List:Overhead Door™ Brand was featured as the go-to expert for creating curb appeal to an overall audience of more than 8 million. The videos were shared across all Overhead Door social media channels and watched nearly 9,000 times. ​​
