Honoring Our Heroes Through the Tunnel to Towers Smart Home Program

On June 26th, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation held a heartfelt dedication for United States Army Sergeant James “Carl” Sampson. In celebration of Independence Day, the foundation provided 35 deserving families with mortgage-free homes, embodying the spirit of freedom. Among these is the family of Mississippi Army National Guard Sergeant James “Carl” Sampson. This initiative gives SGT Sampson and his wife, Kelly, peace of mind, knowing their smart home is specially adapted to meet his needs.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Overhead Door Company of Hattiesburg™ and distributor Keith Moore for their dedication and expertise in installing the garage doors for this latest Tunnel to Towers project. This contribution is part of the 14 doors we provide annually towards our program sponsorship with the T2T Foundation's Smart Home Program. This program is dedicated to helping catastrophically injured veterans and first responders reclaim their daily independence.

The Red Ribbon™ is honored to support these deserving heroes by providing reliable, stylish, and technologically advanced garage door systems to make these smart homes a reality. For SGT Sampson’s home in Picayune, MS, we provided:

  • Thermacore® Model 5740 in V5 panel design that included Stockton I double windows with tempered glass 
  • Destiny® 1200 that had battery backup and OHD Anywhere® integration.
